Research at ZSI for the Mobility Programme

The Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) is a multifunctional socio-scientific research institute, providing an interface across scientific disciplines and sectors, aspiring highest quality of the nexus between research and utilisation of knowledge. Thus many ZSI-projects reveal features of trans-disciplinarity.

In general the ZSI offers analyses and concepts for promoting and implementing social innovation in its thematically focused areas from a trans-disciplinary perspective. The Technology and Knowledge unit in particular focuses its research and development activities on the potentials and limitations of emerging technologies and their diffusion in technologically mediated settings in education and work.

The applicant would be integrated in the Technology & Knowledge Unit of our institute. We can offer a range of international research projects (ROLE, IntelLEO, EU4ALL, ComeIn,..), where the doctoral researcher could chose from according to his/her profile and could get in touch with a wider research community and an international collaboration environment. The topics covered in our projects range from informal workplace learning and personal learning environments to mobile learning for marginalised groups and access to higher education for specific target groups.
