Research at ITD for the Mobility Programme

The Istituto Tecnologie Didattiche (ITD) is one of the research institutes of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). It was created in 1970 and recently expanded in the framework of the process or reorganization of the whole National Research Council. The Institute, which is located in Genova and has a branch in Palermo, is the only one fully dedicated to research in Technology Enhanced Learning. Currently it has a core permanent staff of about two dozens researchers, one dozen research fellowships and a few PhD students. The Institute is strongly interdisciplinary, expertise includes informatics, mathematics, physics, linguistics, psychology, pedagogy. ITD research is mainly focused on innovative technology based environments for enhancing teaching and learning processes. The Institute was involved in FP5 and FP6 projects and in the network of Excellence Kaleidoscope with leading roles. ITD has also lead many national programs and cooperates with continuity with Italy's Ministry of Education on the application of information and communication technology to school education. ITD’s involvement in STELLAR mostly concerns WP 3 (Scientific Capacity).
